Lastly, it is worth noting that one of the principle points of pride of Wal-Mart is the immense variety of goods it sells. In order to accommodate paying higher wages to unionized employees at the domestic level, it may be prudent to reduce its huge inventory selection, at least at certain locations. For instance, it is routine for Super Wal-Mart's to carry goods and offer products and services that others do not. This practice should be expanded so that the organization stratifies its items by popularity and sales revenue, and reduces the amount of its least profitable items by reserving them for certain, select locations. The goal is to reduce its overhead and divert some of those funds to continuing to create positive publicity by demonstrating a greater effort to take care of its many employees.
